EDENTON - Martha ``Crettie'' Sawyer Presley, 97, formerly of Elliott Street, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, in the Skilled Nursing Facility of Chowan Hospital.
She was a member of First Christian Church and its Ladies Club. She was the daughter of the late William Lamb and Martha Louise Ainsley Sawyer and was the widow of John Lee Presley. She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Marie and Richard Schneider of Jamestown, Calif.; a son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. William Curtis Presley of Raleigh; a sister, Corinthia Owens of Edenton; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. E.C. Alexander and the Rev. Thomas Biggs officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and other times at 411 Elliott St.
