Funeral for Billy Mason Whitten, 61, of Pelham will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Freeman officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Whitten died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997 in Pelham. He was born Aug. 18, 1936, in Morgan County. He was founder of the Decatur Pee Wee Football Association. He was retired from South Central Bell, where he served as facilities specialist, and was a member of Indian Springs First Baptist Church in Pelham. A veteran of the U. S. Air Force, he graduated from Decatur High School where he played football.

He is survived by his wife, Freida Whitten of Pelham; one son, Sandy Whitten of Homewood; and one daughter, Nikol Whitten of Pelham.

Pallbearers will be Terry McClellan, Wayland McLemore, Warren McLemore, Jack Crowe, Roger Crowe, Timothy Cox, Ben Cox, Wayne Norton, Randy Crowe and Horace Crowe.
