Adeline, age 92, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday at her home surrounded by her family. She was born to Severt & Mathilda Hellekve. Adeline was a lifelong resident of Stoughton and lifetime member of Christ Lutheran Church. She graduated from Stoughton High School and from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. Adeline was the night supervisor at Stoughton Hospital for 11 years and then director of nursing for Skaalen Home for 20 years, retiring in 1979. She enjoyed church activities, braiding rugs and quilting. Adeline was very devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Ann (Richard) Gainey, Steven (Eileen) Berkley and Kristi (Graham Thomas) Hyllekve; seven grandchildren, Erik (Jennifer) Hellum, Suzanne (Jim) Cowan, Kiera (Pete) Durgan, Brion (Carla) Berkley, Peter (Celine) Hyllekve, Solveig (Ben) Hyllekve and Jon (Mary) Hyllekve; 11 great-grandchildren, Luke, Noah, Jordan, Cody, Houston, Elle, Addison, Isaac, Julian, Sophia and Niya; and good and faithful friends, Pastor Richard and Darlene Rem, Frank and Millie Gardner, Brenda Sherry, Margo Martin and Audrey Fosshage. Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Olav Hellekve. Memorial services was held on Saturday, May 22, at Christ Lutheran Church, Stoughton, with the Rev. Richard Rem and the Rev. Paula Geister-Jones officiating. on Saturday at church. A special thank you to HospiceCare Inc. Olson-Holzhuter-Cress assisted with arrangements.
