He is survived by his children: Cheryl A. (Robert) Conkle, McComb; James A. (Debra Kotterman) Warren, Alpharetta, GA; Cathy J. (Dave) Kendrick, Nashville, OH; and Carolyn J. (David) Ferris, Rawson; five grandchildren: Matthew Detamore, Andrea and Ashley Warren, Brian Ferris, and Kelsea (Ryan) Wenger; and one great-grandchild, Mathys Wenger; a sister, Evelyn Smith, Lima and sister-in-law, Margaret Warren of Massillon, OH, along with many nieces and nephews.

Upon retirement in 1993, he and his wife spent their years breeding, training, and raising Standardbred race horses. It started as a hobby, but as time went on, it became a passion and they were fortunate to have many successful and enjoyable years in the horse racing business, having over 100 wins in his racing career. Kenny was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association and the Ohio Harness Horseman's Assn. He also served on the speed committee for the Hancock County Fair.
Most days, Kenny, along with his dog, Abbie, could be found at the Cory-Rawson Café drinking coffee and catching up on the latest news.
