BRENDA KAY BARNETT
Funeral services were Monday, July 2, at the First Baptist Church of Davis for Brenda Kay Barnett, 60, of Davis. The Rev. Willard McCartney Jr. officiated, and burial was in Green Hill Cemetery.
Brenda was born July 11, 1946, in Sulphur to Alfred F. and Opal (White) Wynn and died June 28, 2007, in Oklahoma City. She grew up and attended school in Sulphur and married Dwayne Hammons. The couple had two children. She later married Alford "A.L." Lee Barnett Jr., and they had one child. She lived all her life in the Sulphur and Davis area. She and her husband "AL" owned and operated AL's Automotive in Davis for many years. Brenda loved her family and friends as well as collecting, traveling and tending her house plants.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, A.L. Barnett Jr., on Jan. 17, 2003.
She is survived by a son, Michael Dwayne Thompson of Sulphur; two daughters, Anetta Marie Banks, and her husband, Stephen, of Verdigris and Brandie Michelle Roberts and her husband, Jonathan Neal, of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Alfred F. Wynn Jr. and wife, Wanda, of Alabama, Allan R. Wynn and wife, Phyllis, of Sulphur, and Alvin "Lewis" Wynn of Lindsay, and two grandchildren, Caleb and Levi Banks.
Pallbearers were Philip Matlock, Larry Roberts, Brent Jackson, Jack Jones and Thomas Doolan. Honorary bearers were Sam Gilliland, Lynn Chambless and Don Jones.
Krien Funeral Home of Davis was in charge of arrangements.
