Bienville Parish, La.-Funeral services for Franklin David Botzong, Sr., age 69 was held on Saturday May 1, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Taylor Baptist Church, Taylor, Louisiana. Officiating was Rev. Jimmy Eppinette, assisting was Rev. Don McCormick. Burial followed at Gardens of Memory in Minden.

Pallbearers were Claude Wlaker, Neal Copeland, Matt Martin, Mike Basham, and Jimmy Smith, Jr.

Franklin passed away peacefully on Friday April 30, at his home in Taylor, Louisiana, surrounded by his family.

In 1980 Franklin started his own welding and machine shop; Frank's Welding and Machine Shop located in Taylor, Louisiana, known as FWM Mechanical, Inc., located in Minden, Louisiana.

Franklin known to everyone as "Frankie" was born in Minden, Louisiana on February 13, 1941 to Glenis and Parnell Botzong.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Glenis and Parnell Botzong, his sisters, Dorothy Mullins and Mattie Kennedy.

He is survived by his wife Genetta, Taylor, Louisiana, his sons David Botzong and wife Sandy of Minden, Louisiana, Dennis Botzong and wife Karen of Bossier City, Louisiana. Four grandchildren: Amber and Heather Botzong from Minden, Louisiana, and Jordan and Ryan Botzong from Bossier City, Louisiana. Three sisters: Gladys Turner of Houston,Texas, Lillie Fletcher of Minden, Louisiana and Yvonne Copeland of Taylor, Louisiana one brother Ralph Botzong of Sibley, Louisiana, and numerous nieces and nephews.
