Adolph V. VanBeek, age 86, of Rice Lake & formerly of the town of Sioux Creek, WI died Monday, May 17, 2010 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. He was born October 5, 1923 to Garret & Lena (Johnson) VanBeek in Tripoli, WI. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during WWII. On August 18, 1941, he was married to Olga Amundson in Barron County. Olga preceded him in death on April 15, 1994 and on August 31, 1996, he was married to Janice Owen in Cameron. Besides farming in the Town of Sioux Creek, Adolph had many business ventures over the years including a trucking business, an excavation business and a taxi service in Rice Lake.
In addition to his first wife, Adolph was preceded in death by his parents & brothers: Garret & John VanBeek. He is survived by his wife: Janice of Rice Lake, sons: Larry (Donna) VanBeek of Barron, John (Lucille) VanBeek of Eau Claire & Jerald (Pam) VanBeek of Plover, WI, daughter: Margie Steadham of Tallahassee, FL, step-sons: Michael (Gloria) Owen of Manteca, CA & David Owen of Shingle Creek, CA, grandchildren: David (Nancy) Rhoads, Linda (DeWayne) Hatcher, Julie (Robert) Copeland, Allen (Jessica) VanBeek, Tammy (Klint) Hammann, John Jr. (Mary) VanBeek, Tami VanBeek, Jerry VanBeek, Jr., Jeannie Riske, Chris (Tina) Swartz, Judy Piper-McCloud, Marya (Lyle) Hitch & John Swartz, 26 great grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren, brother: Cornelius (Monona) VanBeek of Iron Mountain, MI, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
