Funeral at St. Ansgar
To Be Held Wednesday
For Longtime Resident
ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Funeral services for Sever E. Halverson, 64, were to be held Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. at the home and at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran church, the Rev. O. A. Langehough officiating. He died Monday at a hospital in Mason City following a week's illness with a brain ailment.
Mr. Halverson was born May 17, 1882, at St. Ansgar and resided here all his life with the excepton of a few years when he lived in the Carpenter vicinity.
Surviving are the widow and the following children: Stanford of Minneapolis; Mrs. Stanley Nelson, Northwood; Mrs. Joe Stoll, Forest City; and Jerry who is stationed at Ft. Benning, Ga.; also a nephew, Laverne Michaels of Mason City; Laverne was a veteran of World War II, who has made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Halverson and had been reared as their own child since his mother's death when he was five years old.
He also leaves a brother, Charles, who is in the University Hospital at Iowa City and two sisters, Mrs. Helga Thomas of Ft. Dodge, and Mrs. Joe Libersky of Lyle, Minnesota.
