Obituary of Henrietta Mary Brown Dobson (from Mary Anna Elizabeth Brown Laflen):

Mrs. Leonard Curry of Milo, Mrs. Allen Laflen of Moundville, and Wayne Brown of Nevada have received word of the death of their aunt, Henrietta Mary (Etta) Dobson, 103, Wichita, Kan.
Mrs. Dobson, a former Schell City, Mo., resident, died March 21 in Wichita.

Born July 15, 1876, in Muscatine County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Newton Perry and Antionette Catalina Garlock Brown.

When she was a small girl, the family moved to Thayer County, Neb., where she grew up and in 1898 was married to R. J. (Bob) Dobson.

In 1919 they moved to a farm near Schell City, where they lived until retirement, when they moved to the home in Schell City, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Claude Dobson and Lloyd Arthur Dobson.

When she became unable to live alone, she moved to Wichita, Kan., to the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Rapps. She had been very active until the last few years.

Survivors include a son, Roy Dobson; the daughter, Lelia Rapps; a sister, Anna Dyer, Seattle, Wash.; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services were held March 24 at the Cochran Mortuary, Wichita, with interment on March 25, in the Carleton, Neb., Cemetery.
