Mrs. Carol A. Turner, 82, died Sunday afternoon at Providence Hospital in Columbia after a short illness. Burial Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg, SC. She was born May 9, 1921 in Orangeburg County. She was the daughter of the late Marvin Wiles and the late Semmie Rickenbaker Wiles. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW Post #2779, past president, Voice of Democracy chairperson, member of the Military Order of the Cootie Auxiliary, Pup Tent #13, former flag bearer MOCA Grand of SC, first clown, MOCA PT #13. She was the widow of the late Raymond "Ray" Turner. daughter, Mrs. Jackie (Jackie) Bolton of Cope; stepdaughter, Mrs. Zane (Charolotte) Kelley of Bunnell, Florida; stepson, Mr. Dan Turner of La Porte, TX; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 4 brothers, Robert Wiles, Lewis Wiles, Fred Wiles, Shuler Wiles, all of Orangeburg; 2 sisters, P.T. "Pearl" Dickerson of Elberton, GA and Cecil "Jessie" Fogle of Swansea, SC. This information per her obituary in 2003.
