Suggested edit: Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday for Ed P. Redus, Sr., 56, who died Thursday afternoon at the home of his mother, Mrs. Frank Redus, 120 West Fifth street. Services will be held at the Redus residence with the Rev. J.E. Barnes, pastor of Main Street Baptist church, officiating. Interment will take place in Jena, La., with Masonic rites at the grave.

At the time of his death, Mr. Redus was visiting his mother here.

Mr. Redus was a native of Hattiesburg and attended Hattiesburg schools. For the past 15 years he has been employed by the Phillips Petroleum company of Texas, and made his home in Borger, Texas. His wife is the former Miss May Thompson of McComb, Miss.

A thirty-second degree Mason, Mr. Redus was a member of the Michael Dempsey Lodge, No. 327, F. and A.M. of Jena, La.

He is survived by his widow, his mother, seven children, Mrs. H.A. Shipley, jr., Columbia, S.C.; Mrs. Riley Barlow, Miss Betsy Redus, Robert Redus, jr., Machinist's Mate, Sgt. Tommy Redus, all in the Pacific; Pvt. Davis Redus, Camp Roberts, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Lora Redus Garner, city; Mrs. Jack Todd, Jackson; Mrs. B.E. Green, Leaf; Mrs. Arthur Levi, Corsicana, Tex.; Mrs. Robert Arnold, city; one brother, J.D. Redus, Panjus, Tex.; and three grandchildren.

Active pall bearers will be: Fire Chief Ed Barksdale, Em Bethea, Will Hatten, Z.W. Wells, J.M. Gandy and M.J. Furr.

Quigley's Funeral home will be in charge of arrangements.
