Anders Gustaf and Katarina Fridsberg Kallman were the parents of Anders Gustaf, Anders Johan, Carl Jakob, Per Erik, Fritz Axel, and Johanna Carolina Kallman. Three of their sons and several of their grandchildren immigrated to America between 1868 and 1913.

Anders was a blacksmith at Lima Bruk (about 20 kilometers northwest of Laksand). It is situated at the shore of the lake of Siljan. The remains of Lima Bruk (old iron works) can be found here. The ore came from mines in the Leksand area, was melted into iron raw material and transported by barge to other locals.

In 1858, twenty years after their marriage, Anders and Katarina moved to Rattvik and bought bought half the Ena Kvarn flour mill for 500 kronor, the other half two days later for 5000 kronor cash. After his death in 1887 the mill was sold.
