She was born March 18, 1923, in Genesee, to Cornelius Henry and Mayme (Hasfurther) Broenneke. She attended Ursline Academy (St. Mary's) in Moscow, graduating in 1941.
Clarence Cameron and Coreen Broenneke were married Nov. 6, 1944, in Missoula, Mont., and celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Coreen worked at the Washington State University Bookie beginning in 1963, retiring from there in 1980. After retiring, she and Clarence left Moscow and moved to Browns Bay on Lake Coeur d'Alene for 10 years, then settled in Lewiston in 1990. From 1981 to 2000, they "snowbirded" to Apache Junction, Ariz., every winter.
She was a member of the Catholic Church. She belonged to the Palouse Rolling Hills Good Sams, the Snowdrifters of Latah County, and served as a Cub Scout den mother.
Coreen is survived by her husband, Clarence R. Cameron of Lewiston; two sons, Jerry Cameron (Myra) of Spokane, and Mike Cameron (Debby) of Genesee; two brothers, H.E. (Ike) Broenneke of Clarkston, and Larry Broenneke of Vancouver, Wash.; a sister, Joyce Kinder of Pullman; a grandson, Cory Cameron (Alexa) of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Daryl Cameron.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moscow. The rosary will be recited prior to the Mass at 10 a.m. Father Joe Schmidt of Moscow will be the celebrant.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
