DAY-COLLINS NUPTIALS TO OCCUR SOON
Son of Utilities Head to Marry Daughter of Insurance Executive
Friends learned yesterday that Mrs. Kathleen (Katherine Louise) Phillips Rollins, daughter of Lee A. Phillips, executive vice-president of the Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Company, will be married in the near future to Herbert S. Day, son of Addison B. Day, president of the Los Angeles Gas and Electric Corporation. The ceremony, it is expected, will take place wither in Erie, Pa., where the bridegroom-to-be makes his home, or in New York City.
After Mrs. Rollins obtained a decree of divorce from John Lind Carson Rollins in Las Vegas, Nev., she made a trip to Europe with her mother, Mrs. Phillips, and on their return from Europe they remained in the East, where they are at present. Until less than a year ago Herbert S. Day was manager of the local office of the Pacific Meter Works, but about the first of the year, he was transferred to the company’s factory at Erie, where he has since made his home.
When Mrs. Addison B. Day was asked last night about the approaching ceremony, she declined to make any comment, feeling it not her place to make any announcement, but said it is likely the couple “will make a formal announcement within a few days.”
