Funeral services for Mrs. Rosilla P. thorndyke, 59 years old, who died Saturday,
were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the residence of her daughter, Mrs.
James Bothwell. Mrs. Thorndyke was the widow of Captain Eben a. thorndyke, of
South Thomaston, ME, who made many trips to Seattle from the Eastern coast
around Cape Horn more than forty years ago. After her husbands death in 1882,
Mrs. Thorndyke came to Seattle from South Thomaston and had lived here ever
since. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. (Estelle) W. R. Ballard, Mrs.
James Bothwell, of Seattle; Mrs. G. F. Earle, of Berkeley, CA; Mrs. J. F.
Lightbourn, of Central City, CO; Mrs. D. H. Gilman and Mrs. R.A. Gould, of San
Francisco; a son, George F. Thorndyke, a prominent Seattle shipping man.
