STATESBORO, Ga., May 28.- James Wiley Cannon, 76, died at his home late Sunday night after a long illness.
He was a well known Bulloch County citizen and a retired farmer of this community. He served as justice of the peace of the 1575 G.M.A. district for 22 years.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. G. G. Collins, Statesboro, Mrs. John Rigdon, and Mrs. Randolph Deal, both of Brooklet, and Mrs. L. F. Mathews, Macon; four sons, J. L. of Macon, J. A. of West Palm Beach, Fla., Henry and Carroll, both of Statesboro, three brothers, J. B., E. M. and S. T., all of Statesboro; six sisters, Mrs. Mrs. J. W. Smith, Mrs. J. M. Yarbrough, Mrs. David C. Banks, Mrs. W. C. Akins, Sr., and Mrs. M. J. Anderson all of Statesboro, and Miss Beatrice Cannon, Atlanta.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Tuesday at Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Harris Cribbs officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Barnes Funeral Home in charge.
Active pallbearers: Robie Akins, Ceal Donaldson, Bernard Smit, Miles Edwin Cannon, Ernest Cannon and Elmer Yarbrough. Honorary pallbearers: J. E. McCroan, Dr. Ben A. Deal, Ewell Deal, Joe Beasley, Emory Lane, Dr. R. J. Kennedy, Oscar Wynn, Emit Akins, Sylvester Aldersan, Ernest Fordham and Brown Donaldson.
