Candace Gale (Blackwell) Hooker was born on August 5, 1981, in Pryor, Oklahoma. She departed this life on Friday, April 9, 2010, in Winganon, Oklahoma, at the age of 28 years, 8 months, and 4 days. Candace grew up and spent most of her life in the Locust Grove area. She also attended school in Locust Grove. On October 27, 2000, Candace Blackwell and Jason Hooker were united in marriage. The couple were currently residing in Winganon, Oklahoma. Candace felt time spent with family was very important as she treasured the time with her husband and kids. She enjoyed arts, crafts, and going to yard sales. She was known to help others and was willing to give you the shirt off of her back. She will be missed by her family and friends. Candace is survived by:Her husband: Jason, of the home in Winganon, Oklahoma; Her 3 children: Monica, Derick, and Alexander Hooker, all of the home; Her mother: Hazel Six of Pryor, Oklahoma; Her father: Glenn Blackwell of Pryor, Oklahoma; 2 sisters: Mindy Darden of Amarillo, Texas, and Cena Blackwell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Grandmothers: Grace Blackwell of Murphy, Oklahoma, and Selma Worthington of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; Other relatives and a host of friends. Candace was preceded in death by her grandfathers: Roy Blackwell and William Tillery. Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 15, 2010, at the Haner-Adair Cemetery in Locust Grove. Reverend John Blackwell will officate. Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
