Betty graduated from Savoy High School at age 18 and went to work for Grayson Bank in Sherman, TX. She worked her way to Senior Vice President and Cashier. She was one of the first women at Grayson Bank to accomplish this. She loved her job and worked 49 ½ years before retiring to care for her late husband who passed away April 23, 1993.
Betty was a lifelong member and Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church of Savoy. She was always helping and reaching out to anyone who may need guidance. She loved teaching the Word of God as well as continuing to learn from the Bible, her comfort in life.
A friend to all in her community and caregiver to her parents, her cousin Brown Bibby as well as her father-in-law Joe E. Dodson, mother-in-law Ethyl and Ethyl's sister Velma Johnson.
Betty is survived by her son and caregiver James Dodson and his wife Diana of Savoy, grandson Billy of Wichita Falls, great grandchildren Dylan & Haley of Tom Bean, brother Bill Bibby and his wife Joann of Savoy, sister Inez Bomar and her husband Harry of Gainesville.
Betty finally found comfort, care and compassion at her last home, Hilltop Haven in Gunter, TX. Many thanks to everyone on the Kendrick Wing, Suzanne, Robin, Kimberly, Sheila, Kim and Lucia for their tender care, also Dr. Strickland and Debbie. A special thanks to her very dear and compassionate friend Jamie Vest.
We also give thanks to the VNA staff, Anne, Misty and Mark the Chaplain. Daneen, you are amazing, thank you so much. To all who helped to comfort and care for her during her stay at Hilltop.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Bells/Savoy.
Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00pm Sunday at Mullican-Little Funeral Home.
