Phyllis Dorene Baehler Herd– 83, longtime bookkeeper and housewife, died Saturday, May 15th in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was born October 13th, 1927, in Arkansas City, Kansas to Samuel and Nancy Margaret Piper Baehler. Later that year, her parents moved to the Tulsa area where she later attended and graduated high school. Soon she met and married her deceased husband John B. Herd on July 3, 1948.and worked for several businesses as bookkeeper. In the early 1990's, John and Phyllis moved to the Park Hill area where they lived and actively attended Park Hill Baptist Church with Phyllis becoming Treasurer and serving in that capacity for approximately 15 years, until shortly before her death. She is survived by her step-son John Herd, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Services are set for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 19th at Park Hill Baptist Church, Tahlequah. Interment to follow at Floral Haven Cemetary in Broken Arrow, OK at 2:00 pm.
