She was a daughter to Fred and Catherine (Bergman) Grieshop. On May 3, 1969, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Egypt, she married Jan H. Schmiesing who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dan (Patti), Anna, and Tony (Jill), Sidney; two brothers, Ed (Josie), Anna, and Paul, Troy; five sisters, Rita Schoenlein, St. Rose, Mary Bruns, Maria Stein, Bernadine Grieshop and Angie (William) Platfoot, all Tipp City, Joan (Richard) Rodgers, Mason; one sister-in-law, Joyce (Tony) Armocida, Bellbrook; and two grandchildren, Bradly and Emma Schmiesing.
Deceased are two brothers, John and (infant) Fred; two brothers-in-law, Roman Schoenlein, Lawrence Bruns; and a sister-in-law Barb Grieshop.
She attended St. Michael Catholic Church and was also a member of the St. Ann's Ladies Auxillary. She previously had been a member of the former St. Patrick Church where she had served on the parish council. Carol was a Minster High School graduate with the class of 1964. Mrs. Schmiesing had been a homemaker and was also engaged in farming. Carol loved spending time with her husband, sons, playing with her grandchildren, and the many many friends she had. She also spent winters in Florida playing golf and socializing during happy hour.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Michael Church, in Fort Loramie, with Rev. Steven Shoup officiating.
