He was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas. He was an avid sportsman as long as health permitted. He was a Sunday School teacher for many years and attended Williamston Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was twice married, first to the late Frances Smith Bowen.
Besides his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a grandson.
