Mrs. Adams retired fro the US Government after more than 38 years as a civilian employee, working in several facilities, including the Dublin Naval Hospital, Atlanta Army Depot and Fort McPherson as an executive personnel assistant. She was a proud Dublinite although she lived most of her working years in Decatur, GA. She was a graduate of Dublin High School, Class of 1938, and worked as a youth at the old Ritz theatre. She worked tirelessly for many years to ensure that many high school class reunions were held. She had a great love of history, particularly that of Laurens County. After retirement, she returned to live her remaining years in Dublin, her last residence being the Sheridan Senior Living Center. She was predeceased by her first born child, Jacob Hilburn Adams, who died in infancy, and her husband, Arthur Jake Adams, a veteran of WW II, in 1968.

Survivors include her two sons, Jacob (Phyllisa) Adams and David Adams, several randchildren, two great grandchildren, and several cousins in Dublin and Washington, DC, also three step-granddaughters and three step-grandsons.
