MORGAN COUNTY PRESS 11 June 1970 - "Mrs. Emma Brunjes Dies in Bothwell Hospital Friday Morning
Mrs. Emma Brunjes died at Bothwell Hospital Friday morning where she had been a patient since Tuesday. She had recently been a patient at Ellis Fischel Hospital in Columbia, but death was due to a stroke.
She was born at Stover on June 1, 1886, the daughter of the late August and Minnie Nolting Koch. In 1908, she was married to George Tambke who died in 1933. On March 24, 1935 she was married to Henry Brunjes who survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Maxine Otto of Stover, Mrs. Margaret Schultz of Seattle, Washington and Mrs. Angeline Bennett of Hoquim, Washington; two step daughters, Mrs. Edna Viebrock and Mrs. Adeline Oehrke, both of Stover; one stepson, Reno Brunjes of Stover; 16 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one brother, Louis Koch of Stover and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Witte of Atchison, Kansas.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Pyrmont. Funeral services were held at Christ Lutheran Church in Stover, Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Rollin Olesen and Rev. Daniel Hold officiating. Burial was in Stover Cemetery and pallbearers were Marvin, Eilert and Leroy Boeschen, Elroy, Wilbert and Atwell Munsterman."
