Funeral services for Barnie Calvin Jurls, 87, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 5, 2008, in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Fr. Charles McMillan officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Jennings, under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. today, Wednesday and will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday. A rosary, led by Betty LeGros, will be recited at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday.
Mr. Jurls died at 3:35 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 at DuBois Hospital in Lake Charles.
Mr. Jurls was born in Patmos, Ark., to Barry and Minnie Anglin Jurls. He was a truck driver in the oilfield industry. He loved to fish, work and spend time with his family.
Survivors include his spouse, Rose Ann Beldresi Jurls; two sons, Wayne E. Jurls (Diane) of Jennings and Larry Joe Jurls of Jennings; one daughter, Rebecca Johnson (David) of Jennings; a brother, J.B Jurls of Montgomery, Ark.; a sister, Claudia Hartley of Shreveport; and four grandchildren, Darby Jurls, Monica Stolessen, Jared Keith Daigle and Jordy Kade Daigle, all of Jennings.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers include Charles Garner Jurls, Jade Keith Daigle, Jared Daigle, Jordan Daigle, Darby Jurls, and Nick Stoleson.
