Born 1830 to Elijah Alverson, and Winnie/Wina Couch in South Carolina....married Martha J Kerr in 1851 in White Co. Tennessee and had 8 children. Was a Union Soldier in the Civil War, Sgt, Lt, then Capt. Residence in 1860 pre-war was Grayson County Ky, and continued through death. According to 1900 cencus, had been Married to Melissa Jane Mattingly Harris for 11 years although I have no marriage record at this time. Melissa and Thomas had one son together born in 1890, Benjamin Harrison Alverson, who died in 1971 and is buried in Goshen Cemetery, Richmond Indiana. Thomases date of death is listed as 7 Apr 1902 although at this time I am still looking for death record.
