John was a Brandywine Hundred farmer and miller, who is credited with establishing Grubb's Landing, Delaware. The son of John Grubb, the Cornwall immigrant, he was also a large landowner in Pennsylvania and Virginia. John married Rachael Buckley and they had at least eight children. They attended Chichester Meeting in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
