Age 74, daughter of the late William Beckman and Corrinne Esser Beckman Housman. She lived most of her life in Erie.

Billie worked as a cook for Headtable Restaurant and the Elk's and Moose clubs. She was a founding member of the Erie Birthday Club. She was also a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church. She was a Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed traveling, politics and card games.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, William Housman (d 4/1971 age 70); her husband of 50 years, Richard A. Conklin; and three sisters, Clementine Beckman, Corrinne Beckman Allen and Wilma Housman Taylor.

Survivors include four sons, Jeffrey A. Conklin and his wife, Barbara, of Erie, the Rev. Philip R. Conklin and his wife, Doris, of Franklin, Douglas J. Conklin and his wife, Carla, of Tampa, Fla., and Robert P. Conklin of Cleveland; three sisters, Cleo Beckman Wassink of North East, Aileen Housman Greggs of Erie and Bessie Housman Harris of Louisville, Ky.; a brother, Fred Housman and his wife, Anne, of Erie; eight grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

Burial in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
