A native of Leonardsville, Mrs. Palmiter lived in Oneida for 55 years. She retired in 1984 as an administrative secretary after 12 years with Oneida City Hospital and previously was employed with Smith-Lee Corp. and the former W.T. Grant store, both in Oneida. Her husband, Clare, died in 1990.
Mrs. Palmiter was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society and the auxiliary of Oneida City Hospital. She was a former member and officer of the auxiliary of Oneida Post, American Legion.
