Mary Jane (Turner) Partin came with her husband John Thomas and their children from Little Clear Creek in Bell County, KY to Knox County, Ky. They bought a large mountain farm with a two story log house on Swan Lake about 4 miles west of where Dr. Thomas Walker built the first house in Kentucky. They raised six children and farmed the land and are buried just over the hill from where they lived. Mary was the daughter of Joseph & Rebecca (Hoskins) Turner from Bell County, KY.
