The oldest daughter of Heinrich Wilhelm Nühring and Carolina 'Lena' Kreplin.

She was born 1870 in Guttenberg, Iowa.

Mary lived with her parents until her marriage to Fritz 'Fred' Geisler August 2, 1889 in Glen Haven, Wisconsin. Fritz was previously married to Mary Rethwisch who died in 1888.

Mary Nehring and Fritz had one son William John Geisler born 18 December 1890 in Estherville, Iowa.

Fred Geisler is listed in the 1895 census as living with his son from his previous marriage.

It is assumed that they divorced about 1893. Mary could not care for her son alone and she gave William up for adoption to Fritz Wedeking and Augusta Kragen. This is further evidenced in his Delayed Birth Certificate recorded 1943.

William is listed in the 1895 census in Dickinson County, Iowa with his adoptive parents as John Wedeking. William John kept his adopted name from then on.

Mary remarried an Elhert sometime afterward.

On April 15, 1907, Mary married Joseph Leo Fable in Saint Paul, Minnesota. They remained married until his death February 5, 1946. Joseph's burial location is unknown.

Mary died February 5, 1947 in Saint Paul, Minnesota and was buried in Elmhurst Cemetery, Saint Paul, Minnesota.
