Sharecropped in Buffalo County until 1933, when they moved to Jay Em; lived in Banner County, Torrington and Lingle before returning to Torrington.
She worked at a bakery and at the Oregon Trail Lodge; worked at Goshen County Memorial Hospital from 1964 to retirement in 1984.
Her husband died in 1988.
Activities: enjoyed, baking, canning, and creating quilts and aprons.
Survivors include: sons, Allen of Edina, Minn., and Gale of Cody; daughters, Crystal Chamberlain of West Des Moines, Iowa, Shirley Heckart of Lander, Sharon Hixon of Chappell, Neb., and Judith Toole of San Angelo, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
