Crusita L. Griego, 84, died in Glendale after a lengthy illness, Sept. 23, 2004.
Crusita was born in Quemado, New Mexico, Nov. 21, 1919 to Florian and Adeladia Leyba. She lived most of her life in St. Johns. She married Monico Griego in 1933. They had 10 children. She was the epitome of a homemaker. Her home was warm and welcome to family and friends. She liked to cook and loved being with her family.
Her survivors include sons Sal Griego, Glendale, Oliver Griego, Tenn., Richard Griego, Tucson, Jimmy Griego, St. Johns, David Griego, Phoenix and Gilbert Griego, St. Johns; three daughters Mary Lou Vallejos, Oklahoma Rebecca Sandavol, Phoenix, Lucille Griego, Glendale; brothers Louie and Ernest Leyba, St. Johns, 28 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
Her husband, Monico and one son, Pat Griego, precede her in death.
A Rosary was held Thursday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. at St. Johns the Baptist Catholic Church in St. Johns. A Funeral Mass will be conducted Friday, Oct. 1, also at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary, St. Johns handled the arrangements.

Crusita Leyba Griego died Sept. 23, 2004.
She was born Nov. 21, 1919 in New Mexico. She was a lifetime resident of St. Johns, a homemaker and raised 10 children. She moved to Phoenix because of health reasons and to be close to some of her children.
She is survived by six sons, Celedonio, Oliver, Richard, James, David and Gilbert; two brothers, Louis and Ernest Leyba; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Patricio and a sister, Anita Marino.
A Rosary was held Sept. 30 at St. John's Catholic Church with a funeral mass Oct. 1 immediately following. Interment was at the St. Johns Cemetery.
