Ronald Bickel, 68, of 749 S Ironwood, died at 8:25 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Medical Center. The Forest G Hay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ronald H. Bickel (Feb. 3, 1913 – April 3, 1981.
Services for Ronald H. Bickel, 68, of 749 S. Ironwood, who died at 8:10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after a three-month illness, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the St. Anthony Catholic Church. Rev. Robert Yast, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Bickel retired from the Uniroyal Corp., Mishawaka, in 1957, and more recently worked at the Michiana Regional Airport. Born Feb 3, 1913, in Mishawaka, he had lived in the area his lifetime. On Nov. 20, 1937, in South Bend, he married Tekla C. Mikula, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Willard of South Bend and Mrs. Scharlene Sidenbender of Mishawaka; a son, Thomas of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Loretta Hambright, Mrs. Lucille Rich, Mrs. Lillian McMillian and Mrs. Virginia Hoose, all of South Bend.
Bickel was a member of the Mishawaka Knights of Columbus, of which he was a third-degree knight; the South Bend Moose Lodge; and the Uniroyal Retirees Club. He also was a member of the Holy Name Society and Legion of Mercy, both of the church.
