Evelyn G. Meyer, 99, of Easton passed away at 12:57 am Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the Mason City Area Nursing Home. She was born July 31, 1910 in Easton the daughter of Rodney C. and Georgia Schussele Behrends. She married Vertus Herman William Meyer Oct. 6, 1934 in Aledo, IL and he passed away Feb. 15, 1985.
Mrs. Meyer was a commercial teacher at the Easton Community High School for 19 years, a legal secretary for 10 years and a bank employee for 13 years. She was a member of the Easton United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Stanley and Robert Behrends.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday May 7, 2010 at the Easton United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Al Sample. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service also at her church. Burial will be in the Easton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Easton High School Scholarship Fund or The Easton United Methodist Church. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements.
