Orval Alton Bair, 59, died Saturday at his home, 134 E. 9th.

He formerly operated his own body and fender shop and was later employed at Gail Ward Motors.

Mr. Bair was born Aug. 8, 1911 in Kay County, Okla., the son of Orval Roy and Myrtle Bair, and had lived in the Newton area for 48 years.

He married Rebecca Arthemiese Jordan at Wichita on May 20, 1936.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Newton Masonic Lodge.

Survivors, in addition to his widow, include 2 sons, Orval Alton Jr., of Del Rio, Tex., and Duane David of Newton; 2 daughters, Mrs. Michael (Elsie) Smurr of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Anthony (Robyn) Gronau of Pittsburg; his mother, of Twin Falls, Idaho; 2 brothers, Marion of Layton, Utah and Guy of Twin Falls; 1 sister, Mrs. O. H. (Thelma) Higgins of Twin Falls; and 5 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Draper Cannon Funeral Home. The Rev. Louis L. Dale will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
