She was married on March 23, 1941, to Merle F. Cornell, who died in 1975.
In 1942, they moved to Oklahoma City while her husband was in the USAF. After her husband was sent to Europe during WW II, she moved to Bellevue, Nebraska, and was a secretary in the Education Dept. of the Martin Bomber Plant. On his return in 1944 to the Lincoln Air Base, they lived in Lincoln, Nebraska, for a year and then moved to Bellevue in 1945. She was a secretary for nearly 20 years with Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Omaha, Nebraska. After the death of her husband in 1975, she moved to Tecumseh, Nebraska in 1979.
She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and Our Lady of Perpetual Adoration in Bellevue, Nebraska. Since coming to Tecumseh, she became a member of the St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Marguerite Webb and Gertrude Thurber; brother, Lawrence Murphy and nephew, Bill Webb.
Survivors are a sister, Mrs. John (Anna) Olsen, Tecumseh; two step-daughters, Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Lawrence of San Diego, CA. and Mrs. Rinold (Mary) Zielke of Onalaska, WI, 6 step-grandchildren, also step-great-grandchildren, nephews and wives, Richard, James, Lawrence and Kenneth Webb, Frank Thurber and nieces, Sandra Loaris, Sarah Young and Virginia Webb.
Funeral services were held on Jan. 22, 1991, at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church, with interment in the church cemetery.
