G.A. Lauster, 81, native of Germany who came to this area nearly 50 years ago and acquired extensive ranching holdings in Southwestern Archer County died at the Hamilton Hospital in Olney.

Death came from a heart ailment that had afflicted Lauster the past two years, forcing his retirement from active management of his stock farm.

He and his wife had been visting in Mena, Arkansas where friends reported the ex-rancher had gone to consult a heart specialist. In Arkansas, early Sunday, he became seriously ill. His wife put Lauster aboard a plane to fly back to Olney. Sunday afternoon, he arrived at Olney airport and was taken by ambulance to the local hospital. He lived about nine hours.

He moved to Young County in 1901.

Gustav Adolph Lauster married Martha E. Guenther on 17 August 1906 at Goodwin, Oklahoma.

Survived by his wife; one son - Gus G. Lauster; three daughters - Mrs. Erwin Gallinat of Salt Lake City; Mrs. M.W. Davis of Tooele, UT; and Mrs. N.W. Gilmore of Belfast, NY; six grandchildren.

Services were held at the Lauster residents Thursday morning and other funeral service at St. Luke Lutheran Church, of which he had been a member 48 years.

Both services were conducted y Rev. O. H. Horn.

Lauster was an honorary member of the St. Luke Board of Elders, on which he had served for many years and three honorary pallbearers named for the services were long associated with him in that capacity.

Gustav Lauster came to America in 1897 passing through Ellis Island.
