VIRGIL COOPER
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Runge chapel, Davenport, for Virgil A Cooper, 78, of 2028 Ripley Street, Davenport, who died at 5:45 a.m. Monday in Mercy hospital after an extended illness. Burial will be in Blue Grass cemetery.
Mr Cooper was born in Muscatine county, Nov 14, 1875, the son of John and Rowena Cooper. He attended schools there and married Addie Mae Dodge in 1905. She died in 1915. He married Lillian Puchert in Davenport, March 7.1925. She died in August, 1951.
He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and of the Eagles Lodge, No. 235. He had been employed by the Davenport Besler corporation for the last three years.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs Crowley; two step-sons, Edwin Puchert, Davenport and Frank Puchert, Detroit; a brother, John Cooper, Blue Grass; four granddaughters and six great-grandchildren. Five sisters, two brothers and a daughter preceded him in death.
