Mrs Henrietta Gildehaus Dies; Former V.P. Queen
Mrs. Henrietta Hodge Gildehaus, an aunt of motion picture Actress Betty Grable, died today of infirmities at Barnes Hospital. She was 88 years old.
Mrs. Gildehaus, who until recently lived at a nursing home at 4373 West Pine Boulevard, was a sister of Mrs. Lillian Grable of Beverly Hills, Calif., mother of the actress.
Mrs. Gildehaus, the former Miss Henrietta Hofmann, was a Veiled Prophet queen before the turn of the century. She was the widow of Henry W. Gildehaus, a wholesale grocer who died in 1932. Her first husband, Walter M. Hodge, a haberdasher, died in 1907.
Survivors, besides Mrs. Grable, are a son Karl H. Hodge of St. Louis and a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Gates, Beverly Hills.
Graveside funeral services will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow at Bellefontaine Cemetery.
