CACHE Funeral for Arnold Lee Red Elk, 66, Cache, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Bohn officiating.

Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel.

Mr. Red Elk went to his heavenly home Wednesday, May 5, 2010.

Burial will follow at Deyo Mission Cemetery.

Arnold was born Aug. 21, 1943, at Kiowa Indian Hospital in Lawton, to William and Abbie Hand Red Elk. He was raised by his grandparents, William and Julia Red Elk Sr. He grew up in Cache and attended Cache Schools. He was a lifetime resident of the Cache community. Arnold enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting wood, driving race cars and spending time with his family. Arnold raised his grandson, Justin Red Elk, who was his best friend and sidekick. He loved to spend his spare time enjoying nature. He was a member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma and he was also of Kiowa Descent.

He is survived by four children and their spouses: Rocky and Christy Red Elk, of Cache; Pamela and Terry Blair, of Indiahoma; David Red Elk and Gretchen, of Lawton; Misty and Richard Folsum, of Duncan; four brothers and their wives: Clifford and Carol Red Elk, and Bobby Red Elk and Glennice, all of Cache; Jimmy and Patti Red Elk, Sunman, Ind.; and Jon Red Elk, of Cache; a sister, Shirley Little, Hartford, Ala.; 17 grandchildren: Tara, Julia, Justin, Shailah, Jacob, Max, Lindsey, Tiffany, Brandi, Dusty, Terry Jr., Janet, Chelsea, Morgan, Caitlyn, Caylie and Calissa; nine great-grandchildren: Buddy, Autumn, Tatum, Vada, Austin, Hope, Jaylin, Brysin and Ashlyn; his companion, Sandra Martin; and nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, LeeAnn Red Elk; his parents; grandparents, William and Julia Red Elk Sr.; and granddaughter, Tiffany Blair.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
