Survivors include his widow, Kathleen Beveridge Dodd, a former employee of Sauro's Cleanerama; one stepson, Donald Satterfield, Las Vegas, Nev.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Richard (Doris) Swaim, Fairmont; three brothers, Sheriff Charles H. Dodd, Ernest Scott Dodd and John William Dodd all of Fairmont; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Coen, Mrs. Jack (Mary) Snider and Mrs. Ed (Martha Jane) Wilson, all of Fairmont; five step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
One brother, Chester Leroy Dodd, is deceased.
He was a veteran employee of the Owens-Illinois Glass plant, with 43 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II and served in Europe.
He was a past member of the Norwood United Methodist Church, and the Owens Quarter Century Club. He was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and was drum major of the first East High School band.
Friends may call at the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Pisgah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Swaim, Larry Swaim, Richard Swaim, and Donald Satterfield.
