All records we've found show Adam's middle name as either an A. or Alonzo but his headstone shows just an L. Figure it's Lonzo.

Adam Alonzo Cloninger was born on 4 February 1855 (Tombstone says 14 February 1854) in Tennessee and died at the age of 60 on 28 April 1915 (Tombstone says April 27, 1914) of "Tuberculosis of the lungs" in Sevier County, Civil District 12, Registration District No. 47912.

His name is listed as Adam L. Cloninger. He was a white male, married, being His father is listed as Moses Cloninger, who was born in North Carolina, and his mother's maiden name was listed as "Walker."

He had been attended by W.D. Cox from 22 October 1914 until 9 April 1915. Adam's occupation was listed as "Farmer."

He was buried at Paw Paw Hollow Cemetery and the undertaker was E. W.? Huffaker. Informant was Charlie Cloninger, grandson to Adam (Death Certificate #72) Adam Alonzo Cloninger married Millie C. Hayes on 27 April
1881 by John Adcock, Magistrate, Bondsman James Pratt.

Letter of explanation from Harold Cloninger regarding Adam's death certificate, 19 Feb. 2008: The name (on the death certificate) has Adam L. Cloninger where the "L" was used for Lonzo, instead of Alonzo. Adam was my grandfather and the information given to the doctor filling out the certificate was by my Uncle Charlie (Cloninger), who never knew his grandmother. He gave his grandmother's maiden name as Walker instead of "Wilson."
