DIED - PROMINENT MAN DEAD - DANIEL RUPERT, FARMER OF UNITY TOWNSHIP HANGS SELF, TUESDAY AFTERNOON
NO KNOWN CAUSE FOR ACT
LEAVES WIDOW, TWO SONS, THREE SISTERS, THREE BROTHERS - AGED 63 YEARS, 11 MONTHS AND 29 DAYS - SERVICES AT HOME FRIDAY
Daniel Rupert, a prominent farmer, of Unity Township, near new Springfield, was found hanging in the hay mow of his barn, on Tuesday afternoon. He had been in the barn at the time when he was missed by the family, who found him hanging from a rope. There is no known cause for the act which made it all the more surprising.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rupert and was born near where he made his home. He was born on October 19, 1863 and had he lived until Wednesday of this week he would have been 64 years of age.
He is survived by Mrs. Rupert, two sons, Clarence H. of New Springfield; Morgan P. at home. Three sisters, Mrs. Emanuel Kibler, New Waterford; Mrs. David Essenwein and Mrs. James Macklin, of Unity Township. Two brothers, James, of Columbiana; Albert, of New Waterford and Walter R., of Hubbard. Two brothers passed away several years ago. He was a member of the Lutheran church.
Funeral services will be held, Thursday at two o'clock at the home, with Rev. Probst, officiating.
