Mrs. Sarah Frances Herrick, widow of Dwight S. Herrick, of this village, passed away In New York City on Tuesday, after a brief Illness of peritonitis. The remains were brought to Peekskill on Wednesday and the funeral services were held from her late residence on Union Avenue yesterday (Friday) afternoon at 2 o'clock. The interment was at Hillside.

Mrs. Herrick was a daughter of the late John Simpson, and was born in New York City, September 23, 1850. She had been a resident of Peekskill since 1852. She was married to Dwight Stiles Herrick, of Chicopee Falls, Mass., Dec. 6, 1871. He died May 9, 1908.

Mrs. Herrick was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and an active worker. She was also an active participant in the work of various charitable associations in our village.

She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Bertha M. Lloyd, Mrs. Percy Ruth, of Peekskill, and one son, John R. Herrick, of Manhattan. She is also survived by one sister, Miss Jennie, of Peekskill, and three brothers, Fred and Charles Simpson, of New York, and Howard Simpson, of New Rochelle.
