Helen, age 87, of Monroe, died on Tuesday at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on the family farm in Green County, rural Monroe, to Henry & Kathryn (Rhiner) Klassy. She was a graduate of Monroe High School.
Helen & Robert M. Stauffer were married on Oct. 22, 1950. Helen was employed at the First National Bank and later farmed with her husband Bob on the Klassy farm from 1950-1978. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, where she had served as church council secretary, was past president of the Church Guild and was on the Church Counting Committee.
She was a member of the Richland Homemakers and served as president of the Green County Homemakers.
Helen is survived by her son and his wife; a sister, two sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Robert; and sister, Ruth Cadman.
