Virgil Clayton, 82, of Cherry Valley, formerly of Marked Tree, died Sunday, May 2, 2010, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Jean Clayton.
He was a retired Army veteran of 34 years and former instructor for 20 years at Arkansas State University Tech.
He was a Mason and of the Baptist belief.
Survivors include a son, Dennis Clayton (Judy) of Cherry Valley; daughter, Sandra Coady (Jerry) of Forest, Va.; sister, Catherine Walker of Blue Springs, Miss.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the funeral home with burial following in Marked Tree Cemetery.
