Chester Preston, died 12/29/1884, age 73
Dorothy Preston, died 5/19/1886, age 69
John S. Preston, son of C. & D. Preston, Died 11/20/1850, age 2 yrs. 4 mos.
Lydia A. Preston, wife of B. F. Chase, 11/8/1836 - 3/9/1912

Chester was the son of John and Mary (Tucker) Preston. The 1880 U.S. Census taken in Gilford indicates that Lydia A. was the daughter of Chester and Dorothy Preston - she was 43 and a widow. They had a grandson Chester H. Folsom, age 11 residing with them at the time, who was the son of Peaslee H. and Sarah J. (Preston) Folsom (their daughter). Chester Preston's occupation is listed as a shoemaker. Both Chester and Dorothy were born in Vermont.

They purchased the boyhood home of Attorney Samuel C. Clark in 1871, which had been moved from 1106 to 1159 Union Avenue to clear the way for the construction of Squire Clark's new home (now known as the Hathaway House). They owned the dwelling at 1159 Union Avenue for nine years, but it is not known whether they actually resided there.
