Delbert Lee Euartte
Delbert Lee Euartte, 81, of Terre Haute, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010, at 7:03 p.m. in Union Hospital. He was born May 18, 1928, in Terre Haute, to Virgil "Tuffy" Euartte and Nellie Woods Casad. He married Betty Lou Matherly, on Nov. 10, 1954, in Vigo County. Delbert retired from MAB Paints after 30 years of service. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Social Lodge 86 Free and Accepted Masons, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute. He also was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 104, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Betty Lou, in 2007; his parents; and a younger half brother, Otto Zenth Nicoson Jr., in 1949.
Delbert is survived by two sisters, Della V. DeWitt of Terre Haute, and Beverly J. Marlowe of Paris, Ill.; one brother, Michael W. Woods and his wife Mona of Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Miss Maggie.
Services will be Thursday, May 6, 2010, at 1 p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010. with Masonic services at 7 p.m. The Rev. Mark Grayless will be officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, with VFW Post 972 conducting military rites.
