SEBRING, Sept. 19 (By Staff Writer)----Dr. Godfrey L. Beaumont, 51, prominent Sebring physician, died unexpectedly of a heart attack this afternoon.

He was stricken in front of the Ford agency on N. Ridgewood drive while chatting with the owner, Jim Blackman, and Dr. Lee M. Burley.

When Dr. Beaumont slumped to the ground, Dr. Burley administered to him without success. He pronounced the physician dead.

Dr. Beaumont resumed his practice this morning after a two-week vacation.

Resident of 12 years----He came here 12 years ago to take the directorship of the Highlands-Hendry-Glades health departments, and three years later returned to private practice here.

He previously practiced in norther Ohio and western Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Medical College, and was a native of New Cumberland, W. Va.

During World War II he as a captain in the Army. He was a member of the local posts of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge at New Cumberland, and attended First Presbyterian Church here.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Beaumont; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Thomas, Sebring; a son, Robert Beaumont, Miami; a sister, Miss Helene Beaumont, Wellesville, Ohio; two brothers, Dr. H. M. Beaumont and Dr. Frank Beaumont, also of Wellesville; and one grandchild.

DEATH OF DR. GODFREY BEAUMONT
FLORIDA----Services were held Thursday morning for Dr. Godfrey L. Beaumont who died Monday at 2 p.m. in Florida.

Beaumont, 52, was a former resident of New Cumberland and most recently a resident of Sebring, Florida.

Interment was made at Pine Crest Cemetery in Sebring.
