MR. R. E. SUTTON
PASSED AWAY SATURDAY

Mr. Richard Edward Sutton passed away Saturday evening, September 17th, at his home, after several months illness.

Mr. Sutton with his family came to Wakita in 1909, where he lived until death.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Tuesday, conducted by Rev. C. A. Perkins, and interment was made in the Wakita Cemetery.

Richard Edward Sutton was born in Zanesville, Ohio July 7, 1845. At the age of 16 he joined the Union Army, served 4 years, 8 months, and 18 days.

He moved to Jasper County, Illinois in 1870, residing there until he and his family came to Oklahoma in 1909.

He was married to Sarah Ann Kibler, September 10, 1872. To this union were born seven children; Charles, Richard Edward, Jr., and Henry, having died in infancy. He is survived by three sons; J. B. and Lester A. Sutton of Wakita, Francis E. Sutton of Oblong, Illinois, and one daughter Mrs. Martha Ransford of Wakita, also one sister Mrs. Martha A. Smith of Alva, Oklahoma, and a brother John Sutton of Toledo, Ohio.

He was a patient sufferer and knew everyone to the end. Grandfather was a kind and loving husband and father.
